July 2010 The Consumer Prices Index in Phnom Penh increased by 0.5% from June to July 2010. Over the last twelve months prices have increased 1.6%. In June the rate of inflation was 2.6%. The Consumer Price Index for July 2010 has been calculated at 135.8. June to July 2010From June to July 2010 prices for food increased 1.0% which contributed by 0.5% units. Price for meats increased by 1.3% and price for fish and seafood increased by 0.6% and contributed by 0.1% units each. Price for fruits increased by 2.8% and price for vegetables increased by 1.3% and contributed by 0.1% units each.
July 2009 to July 2010 Of the total consumer price increased by 1.6% from July 2009 to July 2010, 0.7% units were due to increased by 1.4% for food and non-alcoholic beverages and contribution by 0.7% units. Price for rice decreased by -1.4% and contribution by -0.1% units. Price for meats increased by 2.2% and price for fish and seafood increased by 2.2% and contribution by 0.2% units each. Price for vegetables increased by 3.0% and contributed by 0.2% units. In addition, the price for sugar jam honey chocolate and confectionery increased by 24.1% and contributed by 0.3% units. Price for food products increased by 4.6% and contribution by 0.1% units. Main increased in the food group was due to increase for price pork increased by 3.6% and price for fresh fish increased by 2.7% and contribution by 0.2% units each. Price for leaf and stalk vegetables increased by 13.7% and contribution by 0.3% units. Price for housing water electricity gas and other fuels increased by 3.3% and price for transport increased by 4.8% and contribution by 0.5% units each. Price for operation of personal transport equipment increased by 15.1% and contribution by 0.6% units. Price for gas increased by 32.2% and contribution by 0.7% units. Price for gasoline increased by 17.7% and contribution by 0.6% units each. The price group of miscellaneous goods services increased by 8.9% and contributed by 0.2% units was due to increase for price personal care increased by 19.4%. The main increased for all index group 1.6% rate of inflation in July 2010 was due to group of good and food and non alcoholic beverages; furnishing household maintenance; health, transport, recreation and culture, restaurants, miscellaneous goods services, personal effects and the other services.
